Addresses the fugacity of life at a time of the anti-war movement, The Summer of Love and emerging counterculture. Considered one of the landmark songs of the psychedelic era. Trademark dual cowbells giving a tick-tock effect ("I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell"). It was pared down to 3 minutes for air play. #11 Billboard Hot 100.
