"Tracy" by The Cuff Links (aka The Cufflinks).

OK, girls and boys, more 60s one-hit-wonders: Staten Island residents Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance penned this 1969 bubblegum classic to be performed by their fictional studio group, a Don Kirshner creation. Ron Dante sang lead vocals, as well as 15 harmony overdubs, recorded in 2 hours (!). A man falls in love with a woman and is smitten with her. #9 Billboard Hot 100, #5 Easy Listening, RIAA Certified Gold. Dante had a second chart hit simultaneously with another fictitious studio group. Song? "Group"? For extra credit, simultaneous chart hit and "group"? Answer: "Tracy" by The Cuff Links aka The Cufflinks (yo Cuff, yo Link!). Cherished memories from the summer of '69, between junior and senior years in high school. So many wonderful songs came out that summer! Ron Dante also sang lead vocals on The Archies' "Sugar, Sugar". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwv8KNJ0VZg&list=RDCwv8KNJ0VZg&start_radio=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sj0pzxGyvUQ&list=RDSj0pzxGyvUQ&start_radio=1
