"Time Has Come Today" by The Chambers Brothers.

OK, boys and girls, more 60s one-hit wonders: Based in Carthage, Mississippi, this fraternal band started out singing gospel music in church. They eventually branched out into popular music. Their only hit was composed by brothers (hint, hint!) Willie and Joe after one of them experienced an LSD trip. It is a 1968 11-minute psychedelic soul anthem. Addresses the fugacity of life at a time of the anti-war movement, The Summer of Love and emerging counterculture. Considered one of the landmark songs of the psychedelic era. Trademark dual cowbells giving a tick-tock effect ("I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell"). It was pared down to 3 minutes for air play. #11 Billboard Hot 100. Part of the "Coming Home" and "The Doors" soundtracks. Song? Group? Answer: "Time Has Come Today" by The Chambers Brothers. I have always liked this song since the first time I heard it as a high school sophomore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIqwzQ7g-Cc&list=RDhIqwzQ7g-Cc&start_radio=1
