"The Hokey Pokey".

OK, boys and girls, a little catechism coming your way: It is rumored that this wedding reception staple dance song mocks, and is derived from, old (Latin) Roman Catholic traditions. Tune? Answer: "The Hokey Pokey"! I'm gonna have Sister Mary Tabernacle Veil whack you all with a ruler! Theories abound but some say that it originated as a mockery of the priest's movements in the old Catholic Mass in Latin, where the celebrant faced away from the congregation. Supposedly, the title was derived from "hoc est enim corpus meum (for this is my body)". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpharBeg9XA&list=RDvpharBeg9XA&start_radio=1
