Joey Dee and The Starliters/The Young Rascals.
OK, boys and girls, back to the 60s: Joey Dee and The Starliters ("Peppermint Twist" - 1961) eventually "morphed" into which 1960s mega-group?
Answer: The Young Rascals. If you haven't yet, you HAVE to watch Little Stevie Van Zandt inducting The Rascals into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. One for the ages! Joey Dee and the Starliters evolved into The Young Rascals when key members — keyboardist Felix Cavaliere, guitarist Gene Cornish, and singer Eddie Brigati left Dee's backup band in 1964-65, forming their own group with drummer Dino Danelli, adopting the name "Rascals" (later "The Young Rascals" by their manager to avoid conflict with another group), and achieving stardom with their unique blend of R&B, blue-eyed soul and pop. David Brigati, Eddie's brother, aka "The Fifth Rascal", was an original member of The Starliters.
