"See You Later, Alligator" by Bill Haley and His Comets.
OK, boys and girls, back to the 50s: This 1955 12-bar R&B classic was written and first recorded by Bobby Charles based upon a popular catchphrase of those days. An ethnic Cajun, it was widely assumed he was black. The best-known version came from Bill Haley and His Comets that same year. They sped it up from a shuffle to pure rock and roll. Featured in their '56 movie "Rock Around The Clock", THE first major rock and roll film. It was their 3rd and last million-selling single. Song? For extra credit, name their two other hits.
