"A Summer Song" by Chad and Jeremy.
OK, boys and girls, back to the 60s: This British Invasion folk duo was often confused with Peter & Gordon. Their biggest hit came in 1964 with a soft rock Metcalf/Noble/Stuart composition, peaking at #7 on Billboard. A reminiscence of a lost romance. The melody resembles Buddy Holly's "Words Of Love", which was covered by The Beatles that same year. They appeared as themselves on "Batman" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show". The song was featured in "Rushmore". Group? Song?
Answer: "A Summer Song" by Chad and Jeremy. I first heard them do it on "Shindig" - love that song! Fortunately for us, after Gordon Waller's and Chad Stuart's passing, Peter Asher and Jeremy Clyde continue to tour, both as solo artists and as a duo.
