Last Train To Clarksville
On this date August 16, 1966, the debut single from The Monkees "Last Train To Clarksville" was released on Colgems Records. It was written and produced by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. It was later included on the group's self-titled debut album, which was released on October 10, 1966.
The single went on to hit #1 on the billboard Hot 100 in November of that year.
It was recorded July 25, 1966 at RCA Victor Studios in Hollywood.
